FAQS
Trade Estimating Questions
More answers on our Frequently Asked Questions page, or contact our estimators.
Can I order an estimate for just one trade?
Yes. Most subcontractors order a single trade, such as concrete, drywall, electrical or plumbing.
What is CSI MasterFormat?
CSI MasterFormat is the standard system for organizing construction specifications and costs into numbered divisions, such as Division 03 Concrete and Division 26 Electrical. Our estimates follow this structure.
What is the difference between mechanical and HVAC estimating?
Mechanical covers central plant equipment and piping, while HVAC covers air-side systems such as ductwork and air handlers. See Mechanical Estimating Services and HVAC Estimating Services.
Do trade estimates include labor?
Fully priced trade estimates include labor hours and rates. Takeoff-only orders include quantities only.
Can general contractors order multiple trades?
Yes. Multiple trades can be combined into a full estimate. See Construction Cost Estimating Services.
