How we write, review, source and update the information published on this website.
Effective date: October 6, 2026
Last updated: October 6, 2026
1. Purpose of Our Content
The content on newyorkcostestimating.com is written to help contractors, developers, owners and homeowners understand construction estimating, cost drivers and our services in New York. It is educational and commercial information about New York Cost Estimating, not a project-specific estimate.
2. Who Creates Our Content
Content is prepared and reviewed by people with construction estimating experience. Pages describing trades, services and cost factors are reviewed by an estimator familiar with that subject. You can learn about our team on Meet Our Estimators.
3. Accuracy and Sources
We aim for accuracy and rely on recognized sources such as building codes, government agencies, industry organizations and our own estimating experience. When we reference codes, laws or programs — for example NYC Local Laws or the New York State Uniform Code — we describe them in general terms; always confirm current requirements with the relevant authority or a licensed professional.
4. Reviews and Updates
Construction costs, codes and regulations change. We review key pages periodically and update them when information becomes outdated. Pages show the date of significant revisions where relevant.
5. Independence
We do not accept payment from manufacturers, suppliers or contractors to recommend products or companies in our content. Any partnership would be clearly disclosed.
6. Use of Technology
We may use software tools, including writing and research assistants, to help draft or organize content. All published content is reviewed by a person before publication, and that person is responsible for its accuracy.
7. Corrections
If you find an error, please email ask@newyorkcostestimating.com. We review every correction request and update the page promptly when a correction is needed.
